I finally have the first sock in the pair finished! I did not use reinforcing thread and will probably regret it, but I didn't have the patience to wait for either a trip to a yarn store or an internet order to arrive.
My husband plans to wear these while hunting this fall. Now the pressure is on... How will these compare to socks purchased at Cabela's?

Nice socks-don't worry about the reinforcing thread, I am just as impulsive when it comes to a 'need to start it now' project. My husbands sock lasted for several years of hunting season and I only had to darn the heel for the last season-they are beautiful, great job. Enjoy your blog, too!
Wow! These look wonderful. I am knitting these right now out of handspun yarn and am not really happy with the color definition.
