Undulating Rib Socks
Go with the Flow Socks
At last! I finished these in time to wear them on Wednesday, when the Yarn Harlot will be at the Calvin Theater and WEBS in Northampton, Mass. The lace pattern is easy to memorize, so I was able to knit them while walking on my lunch hours, or while riding the exercise bike. The yarn is Regia Color, 4-ply, color #5571. I made no modifications except to graft the toe when I had 16 stitches (rather than 12) remaining.

My first finish from the book.
My first post in this knitalong! Hello there!

One of a pair of Undulating Rib socks from the Favorite Socks knit in 'Brighton' colourway, Lucia Yarn from Posh Yarns. I was up to some silly o'clock in the morning finishing them because 'I just had the toe to go' - forgetting how long the toe can take. I had to do some odd shaping in the toe because the insole had less stitches than the front part of the sock, if you see what I mean. You can't see anything looking strange on the sock when it is on, so that is the main thing, but I'll need to think if there is a better way to finish the sock on the second of the pair, which I've just cast on.

crazy about lorna's laces!!!

hey everybody!
i finally finished my Go with the Flow socks!! they turned out very long, but i love them. the purple one is the Anniversary sock which will be for my mother in law. i started a couple other socks because i couldnt stand just looking at the beautiful yarn i got in the mail after going crazy ordering what was supposed to be 2 skeins and turned out a lot more because i couldnt decide on the colors. i never used Lorna's Laces before and i have to tell you i am in love. so soft and so beautiful!!! i want to try to dye my own yarn though, just because it would be a lot cheaper...i ll let you know (and see) how that turns out.
until then: Happy Sock Knitting!!!

MY SECOND PAIR EVER
I started these March 3rd, 07 and finished April 6th,07. I'm a little faster now that I know what I'm doing with regards to sock knitting. I have been knitting for, get this, 60 years.
As the title says, they were my 2nd pair of socks I knitted, sock patterns still seem like they
are written in Greek to me at that time.
I used the size needles called for, size 2 and the yarn I use was Memories form KnitPicks,
I normally stick to the yarn that patterns call for, that's just me. However, the yarn was given
to me for my Birthday from a friend of mine.
I plan on knitting "Retro Rib Socks" again this time using the yarn called for, which is Kroy Socks Yarn.
I'm hoping to find the yarn at Midwest Stitches Event in August.
I enjoyed this pattern very much, I knit a pair of tabi socks afterwards which were knit in all st st and I thought I'd go crazy.

Waving Lace: One down...
Now I have to interrupt this project to work on a very belated Christmas present. (It's not my fault...really!)

Finished Priscilla's Dream Socks
We are travelling in our little motor home which translates into some significant knitting time for me! (we've put in about 2500 miles already during the past week.) I finally finished my Priscilla's Dream socks from Duet Yarns DK weight. I changed up the toe to make it narrower, using the star of 3 points toe from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks.
Now I have to figure out the next pattern. I wanted to do Embossed Leaves, but the only sock yarn I have with me is a ball of Austermann step. Any suggestions about a pattern from Favorite Socks that would work for this yarn?

Another Embossed Leaves sock
Diagonal Cross Ribs
I finally finished a pair of socks to post to this KAL! Here are my Diagonal Cross Rib socks:

I made no changes whatsoever to the pattern except to make them slightly shorter than called for as the yardage of the Socks That Rock yarn was less than called for. I also used 2.25mm dpns the whole way which deviated from the suggested 3.25mm for the leg and 2.75mm for the foot. The sock would have been far too big had I used these sizes.
The yarn is Fairgrounds STR in Lightweight. I love these socks! Now, to decide which socks to knit next from the book. I might be the only person who has not knitted either the Waving Lace or Embossed Leaves!

Meida' s Socks

hey i just finished meidas socks late last night! my mom really liked them so i made them for her for mothersday. i liked knitting this pattern, it s so easy to memorize. the only thing i would change about it if i was to knit the same one again: i did not like knitting the heel pattern. i m not very pleased with how it looks. maybe it s just the yarn i used? (Online Supersocke Cotton 380m/100g and Clover Bamboos 2.25mm) but they feel great and my mom will love them. now i ll go back to finishing my Go with the Flow and Embossed Leaves for myself. i also started the Anniversary Socks for my mother in law. she s got a birthday coming up. i better get back on that couch and knit. let me know what you think!

Merino Lace Socks
The secret socks can be revealed now. Monica (my sister) received her birthday package today (her birthday is Sunday), so they aren't a secret anymore. I knit the Merino Lace Socks in Trekking XXL 186. I was a bit of a Lemming and knit the socks according to the charts instead of following my instincts and continuing the purls between the lace panels down the foot. They turned out nice anyway and they fit her "perfect" she says. It's a wonderful pattern to knit. Now I need to finish the Mock Cable Waves socks I've started.

Finally Finished
Finally finished!
Embossed Leaf pattern
I used Trekking (XXL) yarn made in Germany
75% New wool, 25% Nylon
Color # 77 Lot # 5526
I purchased the wool at http://www.bozemanyarnshop.com/
Everything knitted up great. Just changed the pattern a bit as I said in a previous post so I wouldn't have to cut the yarn. I wish the picture showed the color better. It's a little darker in real life.
Happy Knitting!
Dream socks!

The name says it all. I love these "dreamy" socks!! Pattern: Priscilla's Dream Socks by Priscilla Gibson-Roberts. The yarn is STR Silkie "Walking on the Wild side" - the current club selection.
They have 64 stitches, and I used 2.5 and 2.25mm Pony Pearl DPNS for their construction.
First time I have ever had a great outcome with a shortrow heel, and the first time I have ever made a shortrow toe. Love the outcome - both the appearance and the fit. So happy I tried this pattern. These techniques will be with me for a long time!
Another photo and more gushing on my blog

Embossed Leaves
I thought I was one of the last people to knit this pattern but now I see others still knitting them. I was very happy to see this pattern included in the Favorite Socks book. The pattern is much easier than I originally thought and very enjoyable to knit. I used KP's US 1 circulars and Lang Jawoll fingering wt. yarn, also a first for me and a yarn I like very much.

Little by Little, They're Flowing

I frogged my red Undulating Ribs socks because they were too snug and I knew I'd probably never wear them. I wasn't happy with how this red Regia was working with that pattern anyway, so I switched to the Go with the Flow Socks. What a difference! It's a wonderful pattern. Count me as another Evelyn Clark fan.
