One Finished

I finished the first in a pair of Waving Lace Socks. What an easy pattern! I love the way it looks and feels and can't wait to have its mate finished so I can wear them.

Yarn used: Fortissima Socka

Embossed Leaves are Awesome

Finally...I've finished my Embossed Leaves socks. Thanks to everyone who has posted their beautiful socks I was inspired, because I was going thru second sock syndrome. And now that I can wear them, I really like how different each sock turned out. I used Panda Cotton #9806 - Fern on size 2 needles. Now maybe I'll finish my other "second socks" for the other single socks I started a while ago. Anyway, Happy Knitting.

Waving Lace WIP

I couldn't resist snapping an in-progress pic of my waving lace socks. They arent necessarily something I would have made under my own steam, but a friend chose them as payment for editing my thesis. I never thought I'd enjoy the elegant simplicity of the pattern as much as I am! For more sock action, check my blog the joy of socks.

I *heart* My New Waving Lace Socks

After thinking about them and talking about them to anyone who would listen for the entire summer, then finally getting them started in August and now finishing them in September, this was one very celebrated project for me and my feet that maybe should end in great rejoicing:) Seriously though, this was a great pattern, well written, and very easy to follow. I used the exact yarn and needle size called for in the pattern and they fit great.

Marie (The Fiber Station) - 1 sock done

This is the embossed leaf sock knitted in Louet Gems fingering weight in french blue. I am a very loose knitter so this worked well. So soft and comfey. It's mate is nearly done.

Et VoilĂ !

Waving lace socks...
More photos and details are on my blog and on Ravelry (I'm KnitSix).

I cast off and finished the second sock last week, after several gift-related delays. I love them, which is good, because they're for me :-)

Diagonal Cross Rib Socks

I finished these Diagonal Cross Rib socks for my younger sister and I am so pleased with the result! She wanted fun, stripey yarn (she's 9 years old) so that's what I did! You can't really see the pattern very well in this picture, but it's very pretty and it was so easy to do! I would definitely do this pattern again! You can read more specifics about this sock journey at my blog here and here.

Meida's Socks

Here are my Meida's socks. I spun the superwash and dyed it a pretty denim color. I enjoyed the socks but did have some issues with the heel being too wide and so needed to change to the old style rib (s1, k1 across) to make it pull in for a tighter fit. It was worth the re-do as always. I did knit these on a number 2 needle after reading about them being a bit tight for so many of you-thanks for the heads up. The gauge ended up with 6 1/2 sts per inch. These are so springy and soft to wear-I like the way the cuff ripples. I would definitely make these again. So what shall I make next..............

Diagonal Cross-Rib Socks

Hello!!

Has anyone seen a pair of the diagonal cross rib socks in a darker color?? I found some LUCIOUS Cadenza deep hunter green yarn and would like to make this pair of socks with it. I'm just uncertain because it's so dark.

Is it safe to say I anxiously await my ravelry invite?? hahaha

Uptown Boot Socks: These were made for WALKIN

I finished these a while ago, but am not just getting around to posting them. These make pair number 2 and a half for me. These were made for my sockapalooza pal over in Oregon. I am very proud of how these turned out. I knit these with Lorna's Lace in the Red Rover color way. I enjoyed this pattern, but wish I had chosen a different heel flap stitch.

oops

New member!

hey, better late than never, right? after making one of pricilla's dream socks and having it turn out way way way too big (unwearable, in fact), i have now moved on to the retro rib socks. i will post a picture of the huge dream sock at some point...as soon as I can bear to look at it again. i made it with panda wool per her instructions and had no gauge problems, so i have no idea what happened. i'm leaning toward blaming my husband's foot, since the pattern is 100% based on the foot circumference measurement. maybe his foot is a larger circumference than what would normally correspond to the rest of his foot measurements?? i don't know, but even thinking of this sock failure still smarts a bit.

now, i am 75% finished with one retro rib sock using size 2.75 mm needles and Lorna's Laces. i'll post a pic when i am through. i should have used a slightly smaller needle size but i think it'll be OK b/c this ribbing contracts & stretches quite a bit. we shall see...

Second pair of socks ever

Hello! I'm new to the KAL; I'd only knit some rather strangely shaped Christmas stockings and a pair of much-too-short-freestyle socks. I'm halfway through the Embossed Leaves and I adore them (as I do this excellent book).

They're for my mom, but here they are, modeled on my own slightly-larger foot.

Finished these awhile ago....

But forgot to post them :)

Embossed leaves... done with the colorway amber from the socks that rock lightweight collection on size 2 needles.

A full entry of all of the details as to who they were for, etc.. can be found at my blog

Embossed Leaves... in Green

The yarn is Posh Yarn's Emily in Thuja. It is a bit thicker than my usual sock yarns and I knit it with 3mm needles. Therefore the socks are a bit on the loose side, but since these are supposed to be house socks anyway they are absolutely perfect.

I made the leg one repeat shorter than in the pattern to accommodate the yardage.

Loved knitting it and may make another some time in the future.

Waving Lace in Bamboo Hedge

I started this pattern and finished the first sock pretty quickly but made and remade the second one several times. I tried to knit this in the company of much conversation and ended up ripping it all the way back--just saw too many oops! in the waving lace to be happy with it. I needed to save my knitting for alone time-made most of the second sock while alone in one evening with an old movie playing. It was worth it! As these are for me, I kept on knitting picturing them against our bamboo hedge all completed and it is all I hoped for! I followed the instructions as given-no changes this time. The yarn is called Step by Austermann in greens. It is a superwash that is made with aloe vera and jojoba oil in the yarn so it will be a mini spa each time I wear them!
