There are just so many patterns in this book that I want to try but I just had to start with the Waving Lace sock first. What a great pattern! Not a difficult knit at all, and I opted for the scalloped edging too.
The yarn is KnitPicks Gloss - in Serengeti. First time I've used this yarn although it's been in my stash a while. Not bad, and I've got more in the Woodland Sage. I think this is a good start, I'm pleased so far.

i like it a lot! does anyone else think that there is a similarity to the pomatomus socks?
This is beautiful! I am waiting for delivery of my book, but I will certainly look at this pattern when I get it. Gorgeous. I am also interested in how you like Gloss. I have a friend who is using it for the first time, and really likes it. I may look into trying it also...
