Cable Rib and Go with the Flow

Hello, I've been looking at everyone's lovely socks here for a while and have finally got around to sharing the two projects I have completed from the book. My name is Karen by the way and I live in Scotland.

The Cable rib socks were a Christmas present for my Dad and he's really pleased with them (but he's always pleased with the socks I knit for him!).

The Go with the Flow socks are for me. I liked the pattern but I'm not keen on the colour. Details of the yarns used on my blog. I'm not sure which pattern to try next but at some point I plan to use some bright pink yarn I have for either Embossed Leaves or Waving Lace - decisions, decisions. Happy knitting!

I wish these were for me . . .

but they aren't. This first sock is actually 1/2 of a belated Christmas present for Oldest Daughter. She has big, long feet. I finished the first Go with the Flow sock in blaze of glory but the second is progressing more slowly. I think I just don't want to give them up. As with all Evelyn A. Clark patterns, it is easily memorizable (after the cuff, that is) and the gusset picks up beautifully. I guess that means a second pair JUST for me.



I wish my up-close photography skills would cooperate today - I was actually aiming for the gorgeous gusset. Well, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. I'll take what I can get.

Go With the Flow

Go with the flow socks in Wollmeise's Tiefsee for my MIL for christmas. Lovely yarn and pattern, that was fun.

These socks are great to knit and I'm on my way! I changed the pattern already too...shorter cuffs and it'll be an anklet sock instead of a calf sock - I just prefer my socks shorter! Also doing the cuffs/heels/toes in a coordinating colour! What fun!

Go with the Flow Socks

At last! I finished these in time to wear them on Wednesday, when the Yarn Harlot will be at the Calvin Theater and WEBS in Northampton, Mass. The lace pattern is easy to memorize, so I was able to knit them while walking on my lunch hours, or while riding the exercise bike. The yarn is Regia Color, 4-ply, color #5571. I made no modifications except to graft the toe when I had 16 stitches (rather than 12) remaining.

hey everybody!
i finally finished my Go with the Flow socks!! they turned out very long, but i love them. the purple one is the Anniversary sock which will be for my mother in law. i started a couple other socks because i couldnt stand just looking at the beautiful yarn i got in the mail after going crazy ordering what was supposed to be 2 skeins and turned out a lot more because i couldnt decide on the colors. i never used Lorna's Laces before and i have to tell you i am in love. so soft and so beautiful!!! i want to try to dye my own yarn though, just because it would be a lot cheaper...i ll let you know (and see) how that turns out.

Little by Little, They're Flowing

I frogged my red Undulating Ribs socks because they were too snug and I knew I'd probably never wear them. I wasn't happy with how this red Regia was working with that pattern anyway, so I switched to the Go with the Flow Socks. What a difference! It's a wonderful pattern. Count me as another Evelyn Clark fan.

A Mongrel Pair

I don't even have the book yet, but after seeing all of your great socks I was anxious to start a pair. I looked in my back issues and found these two patterns. but couldn't decide between Go with the Flow or Waving Lace. I cast on with some Fleece Artist in multiple pinks and bronze and started with the ribbing from the Go with the Flow. After three repeats of the lace pattern, I decided that this yarn wasn't right for the pattern. I liked the ribbed look of both parts, though, so rather than frog the sock I started knitting the Waving Lace leg pattern. I think it might just work. This picture is terrible, but I'd appreciate any comments.

Hi everyone! I've finished my first pair of Favorite Socks. They are Go With The Flow by Evelyn A. Clark and are being modeled by my favorite sock model, my daughter:

I love this pattern! I made the leg shorter than the pattern calls for and the toe is a little too pointy for me but overall I really enjoyed this first of many projects that I'll knit from this book.
