Meida's Socks

I knit three pairs of these socks in Brown Sheep Cotton Fine in Aloe (shown), Desert Sand and Forest Green for my daughters and another pair in Wildfoote Luxury Sock Yarn (Mistletoe) for myself. The Cotton Fine not only gave wonderful stitch definition, but was a delightful yarn to knit. For one pair I added an extra purl stitch at each end of the pattern repeat (8 stitches total) as this pattern tends to be a bit snug.

The snugness was due, in part, to the cotton yarn/size of dpns used; but, the pattern has little stretch. The pair I knit in a wool blend is also a bit snug around the ankle/foot even with my usual CO of 72 stitches and gauge of 9 - 9.5 sts/inch.
